An older kit but not half-bad!
The first kit I received had a molding defect, or it was damaged in transit. The front driver-side panel was missing from the parting line down. Looked like either it was broken or had been neatly removed with a knife, as if the QA person thought it was flash. Regardless, the second kit I got did not have this defect (whew)! However, that does not mean there was nothing wrong with the kit. I had the biggest problem with the windshield! I assumed (wrongly) that the visors molded to the windshield would actually help in securing it in place, which is usually the case, but it wound up actually hindering the windshield from fitting tightly against the frame. After having tried Gold CA to solve the problem, I realized that it actually broke the seal and pulled away from the roof! So, to correct the problem, I wound up cutting the visors off and then the windshield fit just fine. Other problems included 2-piece side mirrors, with no positioning aids on the body. Since the artwork showed no side mirrors, I decided to match the artwork. I also did the same with the door handles, which are again missing any body keys to positioning and holding in place. So, with my history of glue errors in this place, I decided that the owner had gone with electronic (invisible) entryways. Anyway, that's my story... and I'm sticking with it!
A must try
I loved putting this one together. Personally I chose to go the foose route but might buy again to try stock. Although it says skill 2 here i have a box with the same item number that says skill 5 and after putting this kit together im gonna go ahead and stick with it being a skill 5 . Decals were one of the harder ones ive done , it even includes decals on engine parts which is pretty cool. Rim decals were difficult. Very detailed interior and looks great any color . You can play wit the suspension to make it higher or lower. Liked the custom foose tires . A few customizable differences for each look (Foose or stock). Can mix parts from the 63 64 65 and 66 impala as there all different model options but mostly similar. All pieces are glue/cement parts, no snaps in this one . There was a misprint on the decal directions as they used #16 twice and never mention 15. Be sure to check that . I like how they tell you when you should put the decals on during the building process . Some kits just give you a visual at the end and it turns out to be harder to apply decals . This kit takes alot of concentration on centering pieces from the engine to the axels . Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a challenge. 5 out of 5 on value
If You Like Impalas Revell has got the Kits For You

I loved building this kit. It gives you the option of a Foose or stock build. The parts were molded beautifully and fit really well and pretty much no flash at all. The panel lines and emblem detail on the body was really good. There are a few quirks with this kit though not serious it’s worth mentioning. First this kit has a unique way of mounting the rear axel. You have to glue two arms into the chassis in which to set the axel on and glue in place,. This step in the instructions is so cluttered it’s a bit difficult to make out. Next there’s some anomalies with the decals. The dashboard calls for two small dial decals but only one is provided. There are also turn signal decals for the front bumper provided but the instructions state to place at the bottom of the inner door panels as well as the bumper so you’ll have to choose where you want to put them because you only get two. The quirks are minor enough to make this a solid 5 out of 5 stars and a super fun kit!
The Complete Package

This model was my entrance back into building models after a long time. The 65 Impala didn’t disappoint. The Foose edition was full of detailing and little extras. The chrome plate on the back seat was one of my favorites. I also loved the low profile look of how the body sits on the tires and rims. It takes some patience and adjustments, but the body will sit really well. One of the things I wish I did was sand ALL the sides on the hood before painting it. I can get it to completely close but not without chipping the paint on the edges. I definitely recommend sanding or even light trimming the sides of the hood before painting it. Overall I think this skill level 5 model is a great project. I’m convinced any Foose edition model is going to be worth the build and a must.
Another awesome Revell kit!
People that have seen my other reviews might think I am affiliated with Revell the way I brag on them.
It's just I feel their kits are far superior to some of the other manufacturers out there, and this kit is no exception.
You can build this factory stock or as the Foose custom. Parts fit and finish are great with no flash to trim and there is only a very small mold line at the lower rear of the quarter window. I did find the rear suspension rather finicky to get all aligned and in place and the instructions rather vague for this step.
You will want to be sure to completely sand off the fender emblems as the decals aren't the same shape, and I do believe they should have been 396 decals instead of the 409 supplied in the kit.
1965/1966 Impala

I love this kit so much I'm on my third! this time I got tired of waiting for a custom rimmed 1966, so I purchased the Street Burner 1966 and the Foose 1965 used the body and interior from 66, the rest is 65 including the Foose suspension which lowers the front a little bit over stock. This is your above average Revell/Monogram kit, everything fits as it should, the upper control arms for the rear axle can be tricky and go into the provided holes in the floorpan, makes perfect sense after you do it. all windows are 1 piece=not much room for glue error smudging! Highly recommend this kit!
65 impala ss

Great kit. Although I have never been a big Chevy fan or a fan of the mid to late 60s and early 70s Impalas.. I have to say this kit impressed me. Fit and finish on this model was above average with the exception of the hood...but wit ha tad of finessing it will fit down nicely. Although a Foose kit there are still suspension parts to allow you to set it at stock ride height. Not overly fond of the wheels in the kit but with a trip to the parts bins I was able to find some more to my liking. Overall.. This is a great kit and I would recommend it highly
The decal sheet was made by a real jerk.
By: d.wheeler1
This model is excellent. How ever it asks me to use decal #5, of which there is only one, twice. It makes my OCD cringe. Page 8-9 both have *5 on the instructions. I almost don't want to finish it because now I have a missing decal. 😩
Also, the brake rotors decals are onsite the wheel decals. That makes it really difficult to apply these decals. Love the model but the decals are messed up!
1 sweet kit
I did own 1 of these paid 1000 dollars for it in 1968.
This is an excellent kit to put together. I enjoy kits that are 2 in 1 and 3 in 1. Because you have the opportunity to build it your way. In other words it's my car as with all modeling projects you may have difficulties. Would recommend this kit to anyone who needs a 65 in there show case. THANKS FOR READING MY RAMBLING AND ENJOY THE BUILD
The detail
By: modelwhiz3
The detail under the hood alone is nicely done as well as the rim's & tire's on this kit . how ever you will need to lower the stance ( hight ) of the body to match the photo the way Chip Foose deigned it to look or you may like the stance just the way it is it is a very nice kit to build you may pick a extra one for your own idea's
Great impala
By: anthonyswaney
This impala was a great build. I had fun detailing the heck out of it. I did not realize it was a Foose design until I got it in the mail. Detailing the interior is well worth it since it is easy to inside it. I would recommend it to any model builder.
Great Foose Build
I recently completed the Foose Ford F-100 which was a fantastic build, and this one was no different. I would definitely build it again. I had no problems with the fitment of the parts and I painted it the same as the box art, great color combination.
Nice kit
Enjoyed building this one. Clean parts that fit well together and some very nice detail. Didn't care for the Foose wheels so I used some out of my parts box that are a bit more period correct. Lots of good stuff comes with this one.
Great Kit
If your more into the building than the getting it done you’ll like this kit. It’s got a lot of pieces, 176? I think. Good fit for the most part & the end result looks awesome.
A Beautiful Mistake

It painted this car while going thru cancer treatment in 2015. I cut the doors and custom made hinges for the first time. I just completed this in 2018. Named A Beautiful Mistake
Easy, clean build

Enjoyed building this model eventually. Had no issues with flashing. The parts went together well with little or no adjustments. Highly recommend this model
65 Chevy Impala
This is a very nice kit, i built it old school with some changes. But is cool anyway you decide to build it, sorry no pictures i lost them on my old phone.
Chevy Impala SS
An easy model to construct. I did not complete this one in the Chip Foose version; I have another that I will complete with his design at a later date.
In my stock

Expected more from Foose
By: shitshow2967
Molding was good and the model seemed very elementary. Expected something more involved from Chip Foose.
A favorite
