Don't hesitate to build one of your own!
This kit really shocked me! Knowing that it's an older kit, I was expecting a nightmare, but it was really just the opposite. Everything went together as good as a new tool produced kit. In fact, the Revell 1971 Mustang shares concepts with this one. Actually, this is the only part that I had any real trouble with, and it was the same for the 1971 version. I'm referring to the back clip. It fits behind the body! Yes, you have to slip it behind, and then leverage the top part back against the body with any kind of thin shafted tool; there's plenty of room to get it into the area you need to reach this way, and once you've got the bottom of the pan firmly glued into place, and you've realigned the top of the pan, it ain't goin' nowhere. Other than this one nitpick, the only other area I had a problem with was the hood. It took considerable surgery to get it to sit where it was supposed to sit, without it being pushed back up by something underneath. Otherwise, this finished model is destined for display. Please see my photos for the final reveal.
Typical Revell Quality – A must have
My kit was from 2020, and it really is well-engineered. Molded in white, this model goes together perfectly. The body on frame fit is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. The decals are excellent, and include dash, instruments, center console, door panels and really nice 302 exteriors flashes. You have to plan ahead with the decals because you have to paint the hood to match the decals. 302 engine is very nice and fits nicely in the bay, even with added plug wires I added. The only thing I disliked was the wheel attachments. They are wonky and unless you precisely trim the inside of the wheels to fit, they are either too tight or then too loose. Further, the back panel piece is difficult to fit in place. Note: there are arrows indicating the correct placement of the tail lights – but the instruction sheet never mentions it – weird. Still a beautiful kit perfectly representing a beautiful iconic car. Recommended, and with price, more than one is worth it!
The Boss is Back
After trying a kit of similar vintage from AMT (which I don't recommend), I purchased this one from Revell and there were noticeable differences in quality. The fit of the Revell parts, especially, the front grill and bumper is outstanding with no gaps and nice contact points to put the glue. The rest of the kit goes together the way it should with no fighting. The side decals can be a bit tricky since they are so long and narrow. I just brushed on some Micro Set to the body so the decals would slide easily into position. Take your time to get the alignment nice and straight. Hold the model at eye level to make sure they are aligned correctly.
Box stock 69' Stang
Pretty straightforward monogram build, Can't explain why I've always hated the rear spoiler/wing on these cars! they look great without it. I installed it anyway being part of the BOSS 302 package. this kit has a few parts for other mustang models such as the roll bar from the 1969 Shelby along with the side scoops. I found the decal sheet extra hard to get saturated, perhaps they were old? also the hood blackout is only borders, you must paint the center after install of the borders. Overall a great old kit! needs a couple rim/tire options, I stole a set from Foose 56' F100 Happy Modelling!
Nice!
Fairly straightforward build. I decided on Testors blue gloss for this, instead of the yellow. I think it came out NICE!! 2 complaints - first, the wood dashboard panels didn't fit right; I painted the dash, but the gauge decals were great! Second, the rear panel did NOT want to go on right - I struggled for several minutes before I got it. Note that the hood is NOT a full decal, like the rear trunk lid, but paint - the decals have a bit of striping. (I guess you could leave that black paint off and have just racing stripes..!) This was a fun build; the level of detail is wonderful.
Revell 1969 Boss 302
I built a kit of the Boss Cobra jet version as a teenager and it was one of my favorites. Revell has done a nice job accurately matching the details of the Boss 302. The parts are clean of most flashing and the pieces come together with little or no problems. The kit comes with a decent decal sheet with instruments decals and decals for under the hood. The engine has enough parts for the builder to detail it even more, as I have chosen to do. Anyone who likes building muscle cars will enjoy building this kit and adding it to their collection.
Fantastic kit!
This was a really nice kit and was a blast to build. The body and parts required very little clean-up, were well detailed, and everything fit together very nicely. There are even a few extra parts, including another complete engine. The decal sheet looked great, and I had no problems applying them. This is a must have for any Mustang fan, or Muscle Car fan in general. Highly recommended!!
BOSS!
Another fantastic kit released by Revell! All steps build easily and there was no flash to deal with, parts fit together perfectly. To simplify painting I was able to attach the front fascia (# 201 ) to the body with no issues when time to mate body to chassis. If I were to build another I will probably just paint the whole hood black instead of dealing with the mask and decal outline.
Very cool
Very well designed kit. A beautiful car to work with. I built one of the boss 429 versions as a kid and loved it. This one is no different. Essentially the same kit as the 429 I did so long ago. Except they redesigned the headlights on this newer version to lool even more realistic. Highly recommended
69 boss
I found this to be a very nice kit.. the decals are very nice no flash added heater hoses plug wires added my own little twist to the Boss 302 not quite the correct paint job but close
3 more please
I've build my own version of the 69 boss in yellow. Now I can build 3 more to have all the available colors for 69 without the process of making decals and puttying
Great model
I really enjoyed build this model. Everything fit perfect. Really fun a great model to put together
69 baby
Great kit went together really well. No flash. Can't go wrong when buying a Revell kit.

Good price for a model car and all the pieces are durable and did not come broken.
