Nice Little Ship, Big War fun to build up
Little Ship, Big War, title from a book I read on the USS Abercrombie. Nice read, and so was building this model which is similar to the ship from the book (a true story). My 2nd venture with a SkyWave product, the first being the Livermore Class Destroyer kit, also from Skywave. Easy to build, and the kit includes parts for 2 ships, an earlier version and the later version which I built. Will finish up the other later though. This type of ship was used a great deal in the Pacific as part of the escort ships for convoys and jeep carriers. They also had a role during the Leyte Gulf and Okinawa operations. Some small parts, so tweezers are a good investment. I used a different camo scheme than depicted on the box though as the USN had many camo measures to choose from.
