Reviews : Tamiya German Panzer IV Tank

This is a great kit from Tamiya. The details are nice and crisp. As with any Tamiya kit I have built, there is very little flash, always a great fit and the instructions are very easy to follow. I was a little disappointed by the rubber band tracks as I feel you get better detail out of molded plastic ones, but they are the kind that can be glued together with plastic cement. I'd recommend this kit to anyone, as the only thing I saw wrong with the kit were personal preferences.

My kit didn't include the armor plates to hang off the frames on the sides. This was a disappointment because I had another tank kit of this type (the H version) that did come with them and really enjoyed weathering them up. I guess if it isn't on the box art, one shouldn't assume they're included (but seriously Tamiya, why NOT include them?). On the upside the details are quite nice and I really like how the figure looks in the hatch.

Why would you include skirt mounts on the sides of the vehicle and not include any skirts? Some armor plates, mesh or something. I would definitely recommend this model but DON'T cut away anything, or install any of the side skirt mounts unless you plan on buying skirts aftermarket or making something. Otherwise, it looks incomplete in my opinion.

Panzer IV is one of my favorite tanks to build and this was no different went together good and tight, no hangups. It has nice detail; you will be very happy when you finish it. Two versions can be done, early or late. I did early so I could paint it Panzer Grey than whitewash for the Russian winter.

This kit and the other Tamiya Panzer IV kits based off it build up nicely with great fit. The only real problem I has was the skirting around the turret. I left it off until after paining, then it was warped too far out. I should have attached it as I built it to get the angle correct.

This kit is outstanding and is on par with a Dragon kit! I love a good Panzer 4 kit and I am very picky about them. This one blew my expectations away! I really recommend this kit to all skill levels!

It is a great kit highly detailed parts you do need some experience though but other than that it is fairly quick to build if you have the right equipment.

Extremeley detailed model with very small parts. Definately not for a novice
