Tamiya Handy Craft saw II
By: barbarak34
This extremely sharp saw with extremely thin 15mm and a 5mm tall blade is designed to cut plastic and hobby woods, but not metal or carbon parts. Unlike American saw blades, which have the teeth set to cut on “the push strokeâ€, this follows the arguably better Japanese “pull stroke†teeth set, like the wonderful single edge Kataba style. I guarantee that you will wish you had it when you try to unwrap it! Be careful not to cut or damage the clear blade guard as you extract it. It has a twist to tighten design familiar to hobby knife users, and a small protrusion on the aft end to make twisting easier as well as stopping roll aways. This is not a handle for no.11 blades or medical scalpels, it is a precision saw for precise cuts. Keep this dry and oiled, like it’s fine bigger kin. Unique capabilities, Tamiya quality, I love it!
High quality and useful
Standard excellent Tamiya product. Right after obtaining it, I used it to trim a model engine distributor to install spark plug wires. The saw cut was clean and effortless. Length of handle is 5.5 in. Length of each blade is 1.75 in.
Durable and expandable
I purchased this so I could utilize the Tamiya TAM74097 saw blades. These fine photoetched blades will only work in this handle. Very handy for cutting small parts or opening seam lines such as doors or trunks.
Worth the money

Typical Tamiya quality, top to bottom. Only a little thicker than PE blades, but so much more reliable. None of the tendency to warp and flex while cutting.
Great Saw
This is a great tool. Blades are sharp and thin to get in those tight spaces. Comes with two different blades.
Great tool

Great saw for working on models, especially when you can't lay the part to be cut down flat on the workbench.
Tamiya quality

Tamiya has built a quality line of tools too. Can they do no wrong? (Besides that Harrier kit).
