Tamiya Sharp Pointed Side Cutter #74123
After reading a number of rave reviews regarding Tamiya's Sharp Pointed Side Cutter 74123, I decided to purchase this item. Upon closer examination of this product, I could see that it is a high quality cutting tool. After using it to remove a few plastic parts from the sprue, I was impressed by how clean and precise the cuts were. There was some clean up of some of the left over sprue gate stub subsequent to cutting, but the amount was minimal. I also appreciated the positive grip feel of this tool, due to the rubberized textured material on the handles of these cutters. It is recommended that purchasers of this product retain the packaging materials for it, as there is important language printed on the cardboard backing that incudes caution and care information related to use of these cutters. This looks to be a welcome essential addition to the tool box of plastic model builders of all skill levels.
It is SHARP
It gets the job done very well. The metal used for the cutting edges feel like it is very durable for its intended use; meaning that this cutter will last for a very long time. I do not recommend using it for anything other than plastic or thicker than 3mm plastic cuts. This is my go-to cutter for removing nub marks now.
Durable and Precise
Typical Tamiya. I used to use one large cheap cutter for everything, now I have another tool in my arsenal. I wouldn't recommend using these on large sprues, but I found it's important to have a high quality cutter for smaller parts. I got exactly what I was hoping for with these.
Great cutters
These are one of the best side cutters and a must for all scale modelers. They stay sharp for a long while and cut to precision no rough cuts and will not break the tiniest delicate parts when cutting them off the sprues so A+ for this fine tool.
Very sturdy and precise
Best sprue nippers I've used. Very fine tips can get into the tightest spaces and the precise cutting edge trims very close to the parts without damaging them.
You will not find a better one
The best tool for the job. This tool will last for a very long time if it is used for plastic or similar soft materials. Very sharp and the cut is almost seamless
Excellent Spru Cutter
One of the best cutters for removing model parts from the spru for a clean cut, especially small parts. Also, I've used for trimming excess off parts.
Best Side Cutters
Best side cutters for getting into those hard to reach spots and not distressing the part your cutting off from the sprue connecting point.
The gold standard
This is my third or fourth pair. I have tried several other brands, but just like the quality of Tamiya kits, their tools are the best.
Getting them all
Got this in the mail and the quality is outstanding. I will be adding the rest of Tamiya's cutters to my bench.
The Finest
Only Tamiya could improve what were perfect cutters by making an even finer flush cutting tip.
