Reviews : Tamiya Spray Lacquer TS8 Italian Red 3 oz

Based on a previous reviewers comments, I tried this Italian Red Lacquer and got really great results. I primed my model first with Alclad II Gloss Black Base Coat, and then followed with two light coats of the Italian Red and then a final, heavier coat. The coverage was good and the quality excellent, as with all Tamiya Lacquers.

Read a lot of reviews on this color saying that using it over grey primer killed it. I couldn't disagree more. I tested it over plain white and while it did pop, it was just too much red, over the primer, it has a nice deep color to it.

Tamiya paints are the best out there. Easy to use, fast drying, smooth application. This red is the ultimate when you think of a Ferrari. I'm sure thats why its called Italian red. Absolutely beautiful color on any car!!

Perfect color for Ferrari color models. Tamiya does not a license to call it Ferrari Red so that's why it named Italian Red.

I used a grey primer and the result was a darker color than I expected. If you want a bright red I suggest a white primer.

Definitely worth the money! Paint was a good looking color just as shown and easily washes out of brushes!
