For masking a large part
If you need to mask off a large part for painting or to protect something you have all ready painted use this size tape. Like all of the other sizes of the tape it will do a great job of holding down and the paint will not bleed under it. The only problem I have with the larger roll is that as you pull it off it wants to curl back up, so keep it pulled tight as you wort with it.
The best there is
Not sure I can add anything that hasn't already been said. Test on scrap that has been painted with the paint you are wanting to mask first to see if it lifts the paint during unmasking. The only paint I have had it lift has been Dullcote over Model Master acrylic clear and Aqua Gloss. Reduce tack by sticking to t-shirt first.
Very good masking tape !
It can be used on matte, semi gloss or gloss paints and all types of varnish. Sticky enough to prevent airbrushing problems but it does not alterate the base coat. Very good and easy tu use tape.
Great low tac
Tamiya tape is great, and I use a lot of it. If you apply it carefully, paint won;t bleed under when airbrushing. So far I have never had it peel off paint from underneath when I take it off.
Great for Modeling
I like this Tamiya masking tape. It adheres well and works well on painted items. 40mm size gives you some flexibility. I little challenging to cut and trim but still a good masking tape.
Tamiya Tape
One of the best modeling tapes I have ever used. It is perfect for plastic parts. especially when painting in different tones. Paint leak is virtually nonexistent.
Solid tape, but not the same.
This appears to be made by a different vendor than Tamiya’s other tapes. It’s good, but not significantly better than other masking tapes.
Very good tape
I've used this on enamel and laquer paints with no bleed and no residue. Lots of different sizes available.
No substitute
Is there really another choice when it comes to tape. Tamiya masking tape is the only masking tape I use.
Layout /Building supplies
Masking is essential in model hobby building. There is potential for paint bleed under on plastic models!
Great tape
No bleeding under the tape when spray-painting. Easily cut designs into tape for homemade stencils.
Tamiya masking tape
This is the best tape I've found for asking models. Leaves no adhesive residue on the models.
