Tip to the Wise: KEEP thinner around to MATCH the paint you're using!!
Tamiya paints are fantastic to work with; and I work with MANY paint brands in my hobby (some are vintage, but excellent-), and there's nothing worse than opening up a favorite color...and finding a jar of paint mud in the bottom. Also, one day you may have to thin colors to make a wash or to mix/airbrush a bottle paint: using any old thinner...can spell DISASTER. Unless you have a degree in Chemistry (and research on specific paint formulas-) it's easier to have enough of the EXACT thinner for your paint(s) around...especially BEFORE you need them.
Excellent
I use Tamiya Lacquer thinner to remove all the stubborn dried acrylic paint out of the airbrush feed cup and to loosen up dried paint inside the airbrush parts such as the nozzle and needle .I have to say this stuff works and the fumes aren't as overly noxious as real lacquer thinner that you can buy at the local hardware stores but you still should be in a well ventilated area open your windows or use it outside I would recommend this for airbrush users it also works with cleaning off paint brushes either acrylic or enamels it gets the job done .
Great of airbrushing
Works great to thin Tamiya paints for airbrushing. Since I do not hand brush Tamiya paints, I open a new bottle and fill it all the way up with this thinner then shake the heck out of it. Now I have pre-thinned paint that can pour directly into my airbrush. This also cleans Tamiya paints out of your brushes if you do hand brush them. I also use it to clean my airbrush after done airbrushing Tamiya paints. I fill the airbrush cup with clean thinner and stray it at high psi. Works great.
TAMIYA LAQUER THINNER
By: ez-26
WORKS WELL ONLY THINNER I USE FOR TAMIYA LAQUER PAINT THIS THINNER IS ON THE MILD SIDE (NOT AS MUCH BITE)WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER THINNERS SUCH AS MR HOBBY.IT LEAVES A SOFTER EASY TO POLISH FINISH.TAMIYA LAQUER PAINT HAS ENOUGH BITE ON ITS OWN YOU DONT WANT TO OVER DO IT.AND TO CLARIFY BITE IM REFERING TO THE PENETRATING AND ADHESION PROPERTIES OF THE PAINT.
Best Thinner Found So Far
I use this thinner on nearly all of my acrylic paints with great results. Whether thinning for brushing or shooting through an airbrush, this thinner works very well. Just be sure to use in a well ventilated area as it is much stronger smelling than X-20 and X-20A thinners. Great for cleaning brushes and pipettes at the end of the day too.
Excellent product
This thinner works great doesn't take long to start releasing paint pigment off the brush leaves a clean brush every use great product for a great price
Tamiya lawyer thinner
Easily removes spray paint from plastic model parts allowing repainting. Does not effect Tamiya or tsm plastic. Use in well ventalited space.
Paint Thinner
Thins Tamiya acrylic paint to airbrush models and produce a great finish. Also mixing thinner produces better results when brush painting.
