Decal challenge
This kit is engineered nicely with good details and fit. This kit is not however for beginners. Thunderbird decals are very difficult under normal circumstances but with the below average quality of Trumpeter decals in general, this kit becomes much more challenging. If you don't have much experience with large decals on complex curves and raised or recessed surface features, you should probably practice on a 1/72 scale model first. With that being said, I was intimidated by the decals and spent lots of hours slowly working my way through the application. Took me about 40 total hours to get them right. I enjoyed the challenge and if that's what you are looking for, then the finished result is certainly worth the effort.
