Recommended for Experienced Modelers Who Own Baby Powder
I purchased two of these Viessmann N scale Swan Neck Lamps for use on my Z scale layout. The instructions are in German and the pictorials are vague. The assembly was simple enough once I got the instructions figured out! No soldering is required which is a plus considering the small size of the parts. Be mindful though, of the possibility of nicking the wire and causing a short. This happened to me and was able to fix this with some enamel paint as the very narrow diameter of the mast does not allow room for shrink sleeve.
Overall, I do recommend this product for experienced modelers. Already assembled and installed on my layout and I'm pleased with the results.
I have translated and simplified the instructions and would like to share them as they helped me to assemble both lamps with favorable and rewarding results.
Viessmann Arc Light Kit 6624 - To thread the black wire of the lamp in the mast, it is recommended to coat the wire with baby powder or talcum powder. The bare wire of the lamp should be cut approximately 7mm long, otherwise there may be problem when moving into the mast. Push the wire end of the resistor into the base of the mast. By twisting the connection wires outside the brown wire and resistor will not slip out.
