BM13/16 Katyusha Soviet Rocket Launcher Vehicle

This kit was not with the time. Had nice detail but brittle styrene makes it impossible to de-flash without breaking; especially on the launch rack. The instructions are nothing but poorly detailed drawings. The fit is not good on many parts, and trying to clean them up results in breakage.

This is an unusual model to build, especially in 1/72, this Katyusha version is post WW2. The moulding is well done. The interior of the truck is relatively good. Clear plastic parts for the windshields. The tires are made of rubber. The MLRS section comes on several sprues and is properly complicated looking, though it should provide no problem when construction time arrives, plus if you don't glue some parts, the MLRS can be mobile, for launch position or in transport mode. Instructions are on a single sheet, but it does its job. The decal sheet is somewhat generic, with one example shown in the box (and in the instructions). Also, ICM decals are not the easiest to use as they silver rather easily. For its low price, it's a very good kit. Recommended.
