"Stress free"

The kit comes with 4 gray sprues and 1 clear sprue. The parts are very well molded with nice engraved panel lines which is important since 1 option is bare metal. The cockpit detail is not bad with 4 different decals providing the details. There is no option for an open canopy however. There was no issue with fit anywhere which is good since bare metal finishes will show any blemish. I put my model in flight so I can't speak to the landing gear although it looked nicely detailed on the sprue. The decals went down very nice with a little micro sol. Be careful when installing the decals. The order you put them on is important since some of the decals go on over the top of others. With options limited in 1/72 for a F-104 with American markings I would recommend this one if you're in the market

"Fantastic kit of a fast bird"

This kit had little fit issues. The detailing was well done on the exterior surfaces, and the decal options were very nice as well. Being a Starfighter, it was hard to say no to the flashy bare metal and yellow scheme and the decals had no issues going on. There was no filler used, and with careful polishing and sanding the metallic paintwork went down easily. The only issue I had was the instructions. Not that they were unclear, but its time manufacturers start making these more comprehensive by adding the paint callouts and not just random letter/numbers.

The Italeri 1/72 F-104A/C kit is excellent for beginners and has nice surface detailing! The decal sheet comes with 2 different USAF schemes and a RJAF scheme.

This plane is a good model for first timer. The inst are good and paint guide is good to the parts fit well with little sanding. The cockpit has little detale but the decals for the cockpit make up for it. The landing gear can me showen up or down but the cockpit glass in down setting. The decals are good and easy to place it comes for two u.s. planes and one jordan. A simple but good plane.
