Falkenstein Castle

This is an old Kibri kit, but an absolute classic that won't disappoint the experienced model railroader. I had some problems getting a few of the wall sections to fit together at first, but a little filing and filler putty and you're good to go. The 'stone texture' and 'roof tiles' are also a bit 'soft' in some places. But, let me tell you, it's an AWESOME kit. The way Kibri captures the little walkway, stairs, windows and doorways is great and makes the kit feel really authentic. Lighting the kit from inside - or drilling holes in the base near walls and making LEDs point up them vertically can really add some drama to it. The kit includes a pretty robust 'mountain base', which is a nice touch. I got this kit on sale for $50 in 2001. Even at $100, I still think it's worth while, certainly brings $100 worth of impressive structure to your layout.
