MENCK Excavator with Deep Bucket

This kit is not an easy build due to the rigging. The instructions are pictorial ONLY and it is difficult to follow where the rigging is supposed to go on each pulley. If you take your time, you can decipher it. Using different colored highlighters may be helpful to follow each line. That is the reason I only gave this kit an average rating. I found it easier to depart from the instructions and rig it as I went along with the assembly. A word of caution: the tracks are shipped INVERTED and attached to an X sprue. You must twist the tracks to invert them to the proper orientation. They are made of a brittle rubbery plastic. Mine both split and broke beyond repair. They cannot be glued back together if they split. No glue I tried held! So, BE VERY CAREFUL with them. I had to use tracks from an old tank model to replace them. The markings are NOT decals but glossy stickers that look horrible if applied. I did not use any of them. Best to get some aftermarket decals or make your own. That being said, when assembled and painted realistically, it make for a good looking model.
