This is a plastic kit, unpainted and unassembled, molded in white polystyrene. It's a full-size reproduction of an 18th century miquelet pistol. Paint, glue (either CA glue or plastic cement), and a hobby knife are required. Instructions are fairly clear and easy to follow, and the molded detail is quite nice for an inexpensive model. Finished pistol is about 20 long. In the picture here, mine has received a coat of Rustoleum Metallic Dark Bronze spray paint and is about halfway through the process of being highlighted with Rub 'n' Buff in Antique Gold. I also shortened the barrel a couple of inches.
This is really intended for display, not play; I bought it for use with a pirate costume and ended up reinforcing and weighting it with PVC pipe and epoxy putty in the stock and pommel.
