Battleship Scharnhorst

This little Scharnhorst is a great little kit. Went together very well and had little to no flash, even with its age. Super fun build, same as the other Revell 1/1200 ships I've built thus far. Not super detailed, but that's really not necessary at this small of a scale, and some good paint work can really make it pop. I decided to model mine as she appeared in March-July of 1943, instead of the dazzle paint scheme represented on the box art and kit instructions. I have another in the stash to replicate that scheme, however. I also decided to omit the flag poles on either end of the hull, as they seem way too large and out of scale. Just simply glue in the pole and snip it off at the nub so you don't have holes in your deck. This procedure was also used to omit the crane and seaplane launcher on turret Caesar, as they had been removed from the ship by 1943. This kit (or any other 1/1200 Revell kit) would make a great slump buster, as it is quick, easy, and no airbrushing or spray painting is necessary to produce a good looking little ship. And as another bonus, they are all super cheap, especially here on Hobbylinc.
