I am extremely dissatisfied with this model. Several issues with poorly fitting pieces (or they don't fit at all). I quit buying AMT models for this reason. Assembly illustrations are not clear in some areas. I have a '69 Z/28 up next, I hope it's not this bad.

"Nice kit"

This is a good kit but not a great kit. Most of the kit was flash free but the pieces that did have it need heavy clean up. The instructions were well drawn but kind of vague in some areas. Not a lot of options either. The detail was nice and crisp. Wheel and tire options were weak so to the parts box I went for some Pegasus rims and tires. I painted it Pearl white with a white interior. My only wish is that the kit would have came with the option of a up or down top. The decals worked excellent. I would recommend this kit to experienced builders.

Building this like my Stepmoms '69 396-RS/SS White (no stripes)w/Orange & White interior (Black carpet, dash & console). Mom and Dad try to give it to me in 1970 when he bought his new Vette (Mom was gonna get his 62 Vette, which was wrecked about a month later by Dads Best Friend). but I didn't want it, I had a '57 Chevy w/'66 Vette 327 & 4 spd in it.

This model was extremely difficult as a lot of the pieces did not fit at all. In fact some of the pieces had to be left off in order for the rest of the model to come together. I was not happy with the finished product. The directions were at times very misleading. I cannot recommend this model.
