This 2 n 1 kit comes with some great images on the box of the Yenko 69 Corvette. Upon opening the box, you are greeted with the body and underside of the car in white styrene, 68 white parts on 4 trees, 45 chrome parts on 3 trees, 2 clear windows, 4 red taillights, and 4 non-descript tires with white lines on one side and black walls on the other.
You get 2 hood options, one with a SS427 on the cowl induction, 2 wheel options which are Chevy Rallys, or Torq Thrust wheels. For intake options you get to choose from the 3 deuces, or the Yenko air filter. Decals included white and black hood strips, some of the gauge faces, door handles, body lettering, and some license plates.
The model went together well following the standard Revell instruction booklet. The body was primed then painted with MCW Monza red, with MCW clear and then polished out. The interior came together super easy and looks great. The back window didn't quite meet the body but still stayed put. The only problem I encountered was with the radiator, shroud, and fan blades. I really had to trim the fan blades so the radiator and shroud could lean back far enough for the hood to close. The hood really needed some attention sanding the edges prior to painting to make sure the hood closed after painting. I had to trim the inner fender wells after it was assembled were the hood pins/hinges were so the hood would close. I tried to decal the tires but when I sprayed flat clear on them to seal in the tire decals, it didn't go well. The tires did not like the flat clear, so I used some part box tires.
PROS of this kit are 1. Hours of fun and enjoyment building this model, 2. Hood, wheel, and exhaust options, 3. Ease of assembly with just few minor exceptions.
CONS of this kit are 1. Fan blades, radiator needed some major trimming to fit right, 2. Back window fitment, 3. Needed more gauge decals. Had to use some extras from the stash.
I recommend this kit to just about anyone. Just be ready for just a few fit issues and can be tackled if you take your time.
