"Great Kit"

This was a fun kit to build - no real issues. I am surprised they are still selling this so long after the show ended. The decals are great - very thick. The white stripe looks painted on (with Micro Sol). I really like the wood grain details on the interior too. Mine seemed to be missing the front license mount - it wasn't in the parts or the instructions. I also forgot to install the side windows before putting the body on the chassis. My fault, but I got them in with some skewers and finesse. Great kit overall - a lot of chrome to match the real car.

"A worthwhile kit"

I was always a fan of the Starsky & Hutch Series and of Ford Torinos - so the Tomato was a perfect match. For a Skill Level 2 model, this kit has a lot of detail - especially when it comes to the decals which include individual letters for the body brand labels as well as the dials and wood-grain on the dashboard. The decals are tough and stick well too - although I advise using some decal set on the decals that fit over the dashboard and body letters. The body parts are molded in red, but is somewhat thin & transparent so you either have to leave the underside of the body unpainted or paint both sides of the body - otherwise the red outer appearance will be discolored somewhat. Parts fit is good, so you can assemble in confidence.

The S & H Torino is another fantastic kit offered by Revell. The only thing not to like about it is that it's molded in red, except the chassis, drive train, and suspension pieces that are molded in black. Everything went together quite easily, and I really like how the windshield and back glass fit into recessed channels. I was quite surprised how nicely the wood grain decals fit the dash instrument panel. Unfortunately even with using quality decal solvent I was unable to get the white stripes to lay down smoothly over the door lock cylinders but that's not the kits fault. I would gladly buy at least one more kit for my stash.

This was an excellent kit with great parts fit and a really fun build. The stripes are a little tricky go line up and get on right, but a lot of patience and Micro-Set and Micro-Sol decal solution will help a lot. There are some good details and the kit lends itself well to extra details like plumbing and wiring, although I only added plug wires to mine. This is a must have for any fan of the show.
