"Roden Nieuport 27 an enjoyable build"
By wmshipjr

I really like the Nieuports, so was quite pleased when Roden produced kits of the 24bis, 24 and 27. Like many Roden kits, all 3 share the same parts sprues with the exception of the Nie 24 and 27 rudder and horizontal stabilizers / elevators are not included in the 24bis. An entire sprue from Roden's Sopwith Camel is included, from which you will use a Vickers MG, a LeRhone engine assembly and a Lewis MG (if your model is so armed). The rest of that sprue is for the parts box Great decal choices for markings for French (of course),Soviet, Ukraine, U.S. and R.F.C. between all of the kits, but I would check on more recent publications for color schemes: the suggested paint schemes appear to be from the old Squadron Nieuport Fighters book. The kit builds very well. Parts clean up is fairly easy. It is rather easy to break the cockpit frame part 3B, so a little care is required there. I think that the fit is excellent and just a little sanding of seams is needed on the upper and lower fuselage. It is a well engineered series of kits. They are an enjoyable build and a great addition to a WW1 collection. Highly recommended
