Inexpensive, detailed, easy to assemble, and LOTS of opportunity for creativity! The only thing missing detail wise was the wire supports for the wings, but a spool of black thread and a little research can solve the problem quickly. The plans have paint schemes for two WWI aces, Werner Voss, and Herman Goering (I chose to do the Werner Voss one since he was a better pilot, and he died in battle, whereas Goering turned into a morphine fueled monster in Hitler's Third Reich) The decals are slightly inaccurate as Voss had a swastika painted on the side of his plane for good luck, while the decals provided have some other symbol (maybe so that the model can be sold in Germany?) Voss wasn't a Nazi (most obviously because the party didn't exist), and the swastika had VERY different meanings in WWI, so I went ahead and painted it on for the sake of accuracy. Also, if you don't want to do either of these paint schemes, a little research will yield TONS of paint schemes. Pilots in WWI were a bunch of peacocks, and they all took pride in decorating their planes individually so you can go nuts with the paint scheme. The model is so cheap that you might even want to purchase a few, and form your own mini Jasta! All in all, a super duper fun build.
