USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier Waterline

The Hornet was the eigth aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy and the third one of the Yorktown type constructed under the limitations of the naval treaty. The Hornet had excellent equipment and anti-torpedo protection, but her anti-aircraft armament consisting of eight 5-inch (12.7mm) single-barrelled A.A. guns (38 calibres long) was rather weak. She was powered by turbine engine offering 120,000hp and made a speed of 34 knots.

"Doolittle Raid"

This is, in my opinion, one of the best deals you will find with 1:700 ships. This is a very detailed product with a great price. I believe it is the cheapest 1:700 scale aircraft carrier. It comes with 16 b25s for the Doolittle Raid. This is my 4th 1:700 scale kit, and it is my favorite one. If you are into U.S. History this is a great model for you.

"Great kit!!"
Big “D”
This kit was very good, good detail, it went together fine. I just have to paint the finished product. Tamiya does a good job on there kits and they are decent size for the price.

This is one of three that I'm building in this series. Trying to build all the American Aircraft Carriers at the Battle of Midway. Although the little planes represent the Doolittle Raid. I'm very pleased with the overall look.

"Very nice"

The 16 B-25's are what make it. A fun build. I recommend it for an in-between project, which is how I used it.
