If all model kits assembled this well, with this amount of detail, then reviews would be redundant. I cannot fault anything about the SAM 6 kit, and I'm a very fussy modeller! The kit comes with some photo etched parts and good old fashioned assembly required tracks.
The missile base can swivel horizontally (I used some light machine oil to lubricate the facing surfaces) and the rack can move laterally. The missile array can be assembled as ready-to-launch or in-transit. I suspect, like me, most people will position the missiles in a ready to launch position which looks more impressive.
To emulate smoke from the missiles, you could use the cotton wool trick, where you pull some cotton wool apart to make a white fluffy smoke trail, and fix it inside the missile exhaust to make them look like they're being fired.
I don't recall having to clean any flashing from the parts. All components fit perfectly. The usual color decal and paint sheet is, in my opinion, the best of the model brands that I've purchased. Some one at Trumpeter sat down and thought about the little things that make modelling a joy, and that's why their instructions are so good, and that means you should end up with a great model that didn't involve you pulling out hair or swearing.
A very nice inclusion is the plastic tubing that run from the missiles to the missile rack. I assume they are fuel lines, but I'm not sure. Regardless of what they are they make the model look more realistic.
There aren't may decals in this kit, which is a true of the real thing.
The SAM 6 from Trumpter is an excellent representation to add to your collection.
Enjoy your modelling!
