Laser Lance Model Rocket Kit

I initially picked this up to make use of the payload section and nose cone in another project, but I started building it stock one night when I was bored and wanted something to fly at a small field launch the upcoming weekend. The faux-missile styling works well for this kit. The laser cut balsa fins fit together quite nicely. They're built up before being glued to the rocket, and a little prep with a piece of sandpaper wrapped around the body tube makes for a fairly seamless fit. While the catalog picture shows the whole body tube area left white, the instructions show the whole fin can olive drab. The version in the instructions is much better. Decals are minimal, but for a kit like this, it works.
