"Great flier"
jcarter
I received this one as a gift. At first I wasn't crazy about the design, but it grew on me. It's a big solid-feeling rocket. It flies great, we've never had it go astray - stable every single time even in the wind. (It's a big heavy rocket, so it's not going super high - E engines are all we've used except for the first flight.) It's easy to put together as well - the skill level 3 must be for painting, which is typical of tube fin designs!.

"Definately Different"

This is a different kind of rocket. Great flyer. However I felt that a D size motor was pretty marginal for this airframe. I would recommend a E size to really get this going well. something on the lower end of the E (E9-E20) . Definitely a unusual model, that flies well. so if you are looking for something a bit different...this is a great addition.

"Strange But Cool"

The Super Neon XL is a bizarre sort of rocket that actual flies well despite it's strange appearance. I built mine stock and flew it several times before one of the fin-lets popped off. A veteran rocketeer at the launch said you know you don't need any of those fins - the tubes are all you need! Taking his advice, instead of trying to re-attach the broken fin - i ripped the rest of them off and - low and behold - it flew just fine! I always get some comments when I show up with this bird. Highly recommended as a conversation piece.

"move fins ,add baffle"

I would have moved the fins either between the tubes or above them . I also have started using baffles on all my rockets Painting was the most time consuming. Glue dose not stick to paint! So I first laid out where each tube contacts the body and masked off A half inch below the top to A half inch before the bottom on both the body tube and the fin tubes then prime and paint. Don't wait too long before removing tape. The baffles are a no brainer! No more chute wadding and no more litter
