Airframe Detail 7- The Henschel Hs123 A Technical Guide

High quality soft back focused on the Henschel 123. While one of the lesser known types, the Hs 123 performed well for the tasks it was handed. This tome does a good job at relating the history of the type, including the technical bits to differentiate the prototypes from the A and B models. Also included is a great section with many drawings lifted directly from the Parts and Service Manuals. This section also offers color images of great quality of restored BMW 132 engines for reference as well. The camouflage and markings section offers several high quality color profiles of 123's in service with a variety of air arms. The final section is devoted to the build of the Gas Patch Models 1/48 scale kit if the Hs 123, followed by an up to date listing of all kits, decals, and accessories for the modeler interested in building the Hs 123. It's only 66 or so pages, but is packed with good information. I only wish that they would have built the now ancient, but still available, Airfix kit in 1/72 scale in addition to the Gas Patch kit. That aside, the tome is probably more suited to the modeler, but does offer a fair bit of info and photos that the historian will be pleased to look at. With the Kagero and MMP offerings on the type now going for much more than the cover price of this book, I think this edition makes a great addition to anyone's library interested in the Hs 123.
