PZ.KPFW. V PANTHER AUSF.E

I would recommend this kit if you enjoy a quick build with decent detail. The kit includes parts for 2 Panther tanks with 12 parts for each. The tanks build up into very close-to-scale 1/72 size. I really like the detail of the road wheels. With a bit of paint and some tint/highlighting, the bolts really pop. The gear molded onto the tank hull looks pretty good. I have not yet highlighted the gear but I am sure I will get that to pop too. One unusual feature of this kit is the mounting of the gun-cleaning tube. It is mounted in a transverse position on the back of the rear deck as opposed to the usual position on the left side of the hull. I have not seen any pictures depicting this tube in this position, but an online panzer discussion group mentioned it was a field modification for some units in Western Europe. I kept one tube in the rear and cut one off and moved it to the traditional position. The kit includes decals allowing for a wide variety of hull numbers. The kit is molded in tan plastic of heavy quality, with little flash, good fit, and gave me no reason to complain. I liked building this kit and I enjoy viewing these tanks with the rest of my 1/72 scale armor collection.
