"Outstanding pieces for a diorama"
undefined
I am going to use several of these in building out a large diorama. These come 2 to a package and are rectangular in shape, with an actual measurement of 7.5x12 inches. I am going to cut them up to form some form of rounded bombardment area. The craters on this can represent damage from an 81mm mortar up to a 15cm artillery piece, being used one after the other or in concert with one another. There is no very large crater on this product, which is depicted in the photo on the product page. My photos depict a guide to painting the pieces as I did. These are a little flimsy, but not fragile. Mounting these to a piece of Plastruct, maybe .030 in size, would probably fix that. If you need larger crater sizes, then I would combine this set with some of PLS91695, which has a very large crater and some very small ones. These could easily be cut up to make any size and shape of crater field as you would like. I enjoyed painting these and look forward to their use in the future. I would recommend this piece for anyone needing craters in their diorama.

"Nice Start"

Just what I was hoping for and expecting. A really nice way to start a diorama or display base, this sheet of styrene craters is an easy way to add details. Leave as is or add your own terrain, rocks, debris, or what have ya'! Affordable, two per package, cut'em apart or use the whole sheet. When I first looked at the product, I was off put by some of the craters looking soft or melted. However, the variety of crater shapes allows one to pick what shape is best. Even the softer looking craters can pass for a volcanic vent or the entrance to a giant critter's lair, just fine. Not a dime wasted here, happy to have picked one of these up.
