"A little gem from the past with new decals"
jimmbbo
Off and on from the '60s into the 2000s, Monogram produced a series of 1/72 early biplane fighters (Curtiss P-6E Hawk, and F11C-2 Goshawk, and the Boeing F4B-4) that were real gems. Recently, the F11C-2 was re-released by aftermarket vendor Starfighter Decals. Starfighter took Monogram's plastic parts, and added Starfighter decals. The parts fit, detail and shapes are excellent for the age of this kit, but the cockpit is non existent. The low parts count ensures quick assembly. Add some stretched sprue rigging and the result is a pleasing between the wars fighter.

"Little Jewel!"

I must concur with Jimmbbo that this is a wonderful kit. I recently completed the original releases of this kit along with the Hawk P-6E, and the Boeing F-4B-4. I actually began these kits way back in the late 70's and just now got around to completing them almost 40 years later! These kits are very well done with excellent detail and low parts count. Though cockpit detail is sparse, the pilot figures are beautifully rendered and I included them in my builds. Scratch building a cockpit though, wouldn't be very difficult in any case. I sincerely hope that the other kits are re-released along with this F11C2 Goshawk, because I am sure seasoned modelers like myself will snap them up! Hint: In my builds of these kits, I rigged these planes with 2 LB test monofilament fishing line (.006 dia.) and it looks pretty good for the scale. Good luck!

"Junk!"

I am a FAA licenced Airframe & Powerplant mechanic and I thought this would be an enjoyable little project. But it was so poorly designed it took any fun out of it. What I received is OBVIOUSLY not what is pictured on your website. Jimmie & Jimmbo are ringers. Please take a look at this problem.
