ths is...a disaster
I recently purchased the tamiya 1:72 scale fighter jet model kit, and I have to say, it was one of the most frustrating model-building experiences I’ve ever had.
First off, the instructions were terribly vague and poorly printed. The diagrams were unclear, making it difficult to follow the steps. I had to guess several times on how parts were meant to fit together, leading to a lot of trial and error. Some steps even seemed to be missing entirely, leaving me completely stuck.
The parts were flimsy and, frankly, not well molded. There were noticeable flash lines and imperfections all over, requiring extensive sanding and filing just to make the pieces fit properly. Several parts were also warped, which made the assembly even more challenging. The plastic felt brittle, and some small pieces snapped off while I was trying to trim them.
The decals, which I was most excited about, were a letdown. They were thin, hard to apply, and quickly started to peel off once they dried. Some didn’t even fit the designated areas properly. After spending hours painstakingly assembling the model, it felt like the decals were the final insult.
To top it all off, the paint provided in the kit was cheap and dried up quickly. I had to buy additional paint just to finish the job, which completely negated the convenience of a “one-stop” kit.
Overall, this model was a major disappointment. What should have been an enjoyable build turned into a stressful experience, and the final product didn’t even resemble the sleek, detailed plane promised on the box. Save your money and look for a higher-quality kit from a more reputable brand.
