I have used the Tamiya track and wheel sets, universal plates and gearboxes for over twenty years now in my slot car and rc build projects, and they can handle some major torque and abuse- one slot car drag tracked chassis of mine is in the 48 mph range. Very easy to build up with plastic or brass components, even the basic single gearbox/ wooden platforms make for great base models. Highly recommended and will always recommend for any advanced modeler that wants to be a little different then the norm, glad Tamiya has gone to a different color then the standard orange offerings. Can't wait to build the next series of trucks up with these new kits!
