I needed a Russian tank that had a fighting chance against my Tiger II kit which was also 1/76 scale so I bought this. This kit is pretty good but the problems I had with it were the tracks and wheels being in only one piece and the inaccuracy of the tank to the real thing. So the tracks and wheels were easy to assemble which is nice but the detail wasn't amazing. The tracks were harder to paint because they weren't separate from the wheels but it wasn't too bad. The inaccuracy that I was tanking about earlier was the front of the hull. The lower glacis is much bigger in proportion to the upper glacis than it should be which is a problem for me but maybe not for other people. Also the front hull has much sharper angles in general on the real tank. Other than those minor problems it was a fun tank to build and Dragon didn't shy away from detail on the turret and Hull. Great model kit in my opinion.

This is a very good 1/72 representation of the IS-3 Soviet heavy tank. All parts are very finely molded. Track wheels and suspension are made in a ready assembled set, these are beautifully detailed tracks just as good as the Link and length ones, they are a perfect fit around the sprocket and idler. Trumpeter have also included pre-bent wire for the turret grab handles, this is a nice touch, and they look great when finished. The DshK machine gun is one of the best that I have seen in this scale. A nicely done one-piece barrel muzzle with barrel opening. Another nice thing is the cast structure on the tower. The decal sheet is a generic one, the instructions show markings for 2 vehicles. With 146 parts and some very small, it's not for beginners, but everything fits perfect, and the instructions are easy to follow. Very nice kit. Highly recommended.
