German SdKfz 182 King Tiger Tank (Porsche Turret)

I really enjoyed building this kit. The size of the tank for a 1/72 scale model is big. There is lots of detail. Like so many other models (this and other companies), the tracks are rubber and need to be stapled in order to not break apart. I can never get the melting/gluing of tracks to hold. The tow cables were molded onto the upper hull. I like it better when the tow cables are a separate piece. The turret was difficult to insert into the hull because the turret ring is a separate piece. Overall a fun model to build.

This is just what you would expect from a Trumpeter 1/76 scale tank: good detail, lots of parts and accurate to the real tank. This is a fun kit to build just to really understand these Nazi Super tanks if nothing else. The only parts I had trouble with were the rubber track pieces. These were simple enough to put on but near impossible to get them to correctly sit on the model (sink onto the wheels). The tank still turned out to look great but it would have been much easier if the tracks were a different material such as plastic like on some of their other kits. Overall it is a great kit, just be patient with the tracks.
