The Spitfire PR19 was the last of the recon spits as well as the last variant to see operational RAF service. This is a very nicely done kit from airfix that captures the sleek lines of the PR19 quite well. The construction is simple and will build up quickly. the panel lines are bit heavy and the cockpit detail is rather basic. Other than than, it really looks the part and is cleanly molded. For the advanced modeler, detail sets are available for the cockpit. Marking options are provided for two postwar versions. Aftermarket decals are available from Xtradecal and Kitsworld for those looking to do a wartime version. This will make an excellent weekend project for the beginner and fine canvas for super detailing for the expert. Airfix has added another fine addition to their new line up of spitfire kits.

This is one of the best airfix kits that i have bulit. The parts fit well there is good detale in the cockbit and for a model it comes with a pilot. But not a very detale one the only fault is is the paint chart is to read but it shows only the numbers for the paint and not brand of paint. The inst are easy to read a good plane for any modeler.

This little kit really is a gem...goes together like a dream, with the exception of the wall in the cockpit. I had to file that down quite a bit to make the wings fit to the fuselage. Other than that, perfect fit with not one drop of putty. Excellent little kit that you can finish in a weekend.
