Red Nova

The Estes Red Nova has the look of a 2 stage rocket, but is only a single stage rocket. Just add a stage coupler, extend the stock BT-50 24mm engine mount to another 24mm engine mount at the base mount point of the 2nd set of fins. An internal focusing cone for staging is optional, in the booster. Relocate the launch lugs forward of the booster, add an ejection baffle and nose weight. For the most smoke and fire use an E12-0 in the booster stage and an E12-8 in the sustainer and it should see about 1,500 feet.
