A4E/F Skyhawk Aircraft

While a rather old kit from Hasegawa, the molds have stood the test of time. The kit goes tighter very well, with no major fit problems. The only real complaint I had with this kit is that it still has raised panel lines. But with preshading the model looks very nice after painting. I used the kit supplied plastic landing gear struts,and they look nice, but a white metal replacement landing gear strut set is aviabale from SAC. I used the Eduard F-4E PE cockpit set for the Trumpeter kit in the cockpit, with no problems. I used a aftermarket resin seat. Since the kit seat bottom is molded into the cockpit floor, you will need to cut this portion of the cockpit floor out and replace it with plastic card stock. The decal sheet is nice, though I used an aftermarket sheet on mine, the next one will have the kit decals. This kit is less expensive than the Trumpeter kit, and does not suffer from the shape issues that I have heard the Trumpeter kit suffers from. This is a nice model of the A-4 and comes with a nice selection of weapons and drop tanks,which most Hasegawa kits do not offer. I would recommend this kit.
