Great Kit!
By: adam
This is a fantastic kit. It's a small and manageable project if you're a beginner, but has great detail for more advanced builders. The large, wide canopy is great for showing off the cockpit detail in open or closed positions. There are many options for how to build it, such as the choices of under-wing weapons and whether or not to include the in-flight refueling probe. The exterior has very finely detailed panel lines, and it's an unusual shape that attracts attention among other models when on display. It comes with multiple options for the paint-scheme. From memory, I think they're USAF (in Vietnam), South Vietnamese Air Force or United States Air National Guard, all of which come with plenty of decals.
Good: High detail inside and out, good fit of parts, multiple paint scheme options, interesting subject matter
Bad: Can't think of anything!
Better than other options

This TINY kit was a blast to put together. I had no issues in construction and used no filler. The paint being the hardest part of the whole kit. I do, however, wish they would have included metal landing gear for the nose if nothing else to help with the tailsitter issue. Even with adding as much weight in as I could, it still needs help from blue tac to stay on all 3 wheels in the case. It also would have helped with the breakage issue - I broke the nosegear at least 2 different times. I wouldn't have given this kit a second look but for some reason It just called to me. I'm glad I picked it up.
One of my favorite builds so far

This is a great little kit. Although not the most popular subject, Academy did a wonderful job here. Lots of options with this kit, especially with armament. Instructions were fairly clear, decals were fine, nothing extraordinary but good. Being 1/72, I recommend being very careful with some of the smaller parts, as they can be quite fragile. One of my favorite builds I've completed so far, even though I only got it as a test bed for a Vietnam era C-130 I was making.

This model has good and bad points. Good the color chart is good but in b&w the parts go toghter well and with a little work it can be shown with landing gear down or up. Bad the inst sheet can be a little confuing and decals must be used with care. But with care a good plane can be bulit.
Great little kit
This model is beautifully done. The kit builds together in a straightforward manner. The parts are quality made. This is an older kit so, there may be challenges to it. I look forward to building this model. This is a great addition to any Vietnam era airplane collection.
very good and an excellent price

as far as I am concerned, Academy has very good 1/72 kits. this one has very, very good detail. excellent range of weaponry. if you take your time, you will have a very good addition to your collection.
Great little plane
This is one great little build. Everything went together without a hitch. This plane is part of my Tri-plane display. One of three planes mostly used when I was stationed at DaNang, VietNam
Bad academy kit

A bad kit for me, it has very poor details and fit problems, it needs a lot of putty. Better buy a hasegawa version.
