Airfix's 1/144 Artemis II SLS
The kit is fairly easy to build, with perhaps the exception of the support basket for the Stage 2 engine: it's difficult to get the X brackets to line up properly. Seams will need to be sealed tightly and in some cases putty-filled and sanded. I used actual photos from NASA of the SLS to try and duplicate its paint scheme, which requires shades of orange-rust, yellow, and white. This required using an airbrush and lots and lots of masking, cutting all sorts of sizes- especially small circles. There are a lot of decals, and they were a challenge. I ended up ruining a couple and had to purchase a decal kit from Lake County Space Port, which meant that one of the NASA logo decals is a slightly different shade of red from the Airfix kit's decal. And they did not have a couple other decals that I ruined that were in the kit. Depending on how accurate you want to be will determine how easy or difficult this build is. One thing I was able to do, which was cool, was that the Lake County decals included 2 250th America Anniversary decals- which were on the Artemis II SLS since it was launched this year.
