Mirage 2000C

The 1/48 Kinetic Mirage 2000c is a detailed kit with recessed panel lines and good rivet detail. The two tone camouflage pattern is interesting and a challenge to replicate, therefore, I used a camouflage masking set from TopNotch for the 1/48 Mirage 2000c. I used Vallejo Acrylic Paints applied with an Iwata HPC Airbrush with a 0.3 mm needle at 18 to 20 psi. The kit had some fit issues with the canopy as well as with the intake cowling parts. It was also necessary for me to use Perfect Putty to fill the seams along the main wing roots. The landing gear struts are fragile, so careful assembly is required. The aircraft includes decals to make a French, Greek or Qatari/UAE Combat Fighter. Due to fit issues and the complex paint scheme involving time consuming masking, this kit is recommended for intermediate to advanced builders with airbrush painting skills.
