This is new kit so I didn't expect flash to be a problem and it wasn't. There is good detail in the parts and some variety to the decal sheet. One of the nicer features is even though the 3 doors are molded into the body, the parts are provided to make them operational if you want to put in the effort. This is not outlined in the instruction sheet but any experienced modeler will see just how easy the made this mod. The rear wheel wells have to be opened up to allow use of the slicks and a template is provided for this mod. Owing to the military theme intended for this kit the chrome is minimal. For my purposes this is fine. Some modelers will want to add chrome parts to shine this kit up. You will enjoy thos kit whether you are a beginner or advanced builder.

Overall this is a nice kit. Molding is great with very little flash or mold lines to be removed, and everything fit together nicely with minimal effort. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, but there are some things Revell could have done to make this kit better. It comes with the suspension parts that you need to build a gasser or just a custom, stock height panel truck, but not sufficient parts to build a completely stock model without kit bashing such as a smaller engine and stock wheels, which is why I say it's incomplete...they seem to have wanted to allow you to built it stock or drag, but then didn't quite give you enough pieces to build it stock.. I would have liked for it to at least come with some more period-correct slotted mag wheels...this is the second '53 Gasser Kit I have (also have the '53 Chevy Coupe Gasser, which is a very similar kit save for the wheels) that comes with these stupid wheels from the 80's, and I just don't really think they go well with these cars.

I love this kit. I have won 2nd place in custom truck at the Mobile Modelfest in AL and the 1st place at Tigerfest in Kenner, LA with this kit. The doors are molded shut, but the kit comes with hinges for the doors. I cut the doors from the body in order to have them open. The supercharger does not seem to have any type of intake except for the four holes on top of it. I added so intake pipes on it and cut a hole in the hood to have the pipes come through. All together this kit is awesome, people enjoy my rendition and I plan on building another in the near future. Have no doubts this kit will look great on your shelf!
