"Big build of a big car"
Mr. Mike (Wildomar, CA)
I knew this would be a project, and it was. Lots of parts and certainly not a standard car. The detail is decent, but not spectacular. The molding and QC is reasonable, some clean up to do but not a ridiculous amount. Once everything was prepared the instructions became vital. Unfortunately they weren't always the clearest. Details of locations were often lacking. Careful study and trials were vital to get it even close to correct sometimes. Once you got towards the end of the build you often discovered how important some previous locations actually were. Actual body fits became an issue only to be mitigated by the displaying of the end product with part of the body removed to show the internals. I do like the end product, I just don't show it with the full body in place. Some internet research was helpful for proper coloring of some details.

"No need to accept every challenge presented to you."
benmkennedy
I build models for personal pleasure and display, using them as a foundation for artwork featuring the (boat, plane, car, etc) subject model as one might use any other model (animate or inanimate). For this model, I struggled until it was finished, then decided to just Gut it, using only the shell as a model, for art. Internal details were not adequate for my kind of artwork anyway. I thought this kit was overpriced, and wrote a scathing letter to Revell about it. I think it is helpful to have a very compelling need if you are to undertake this nerve wracking project.

"A tough build"

I purchased this kit if for no other reason than to see how Thompson connected the 4 powerplants to the wheels. This kit attempts to shove a lot of pieces into a very small area with instructions that are not quite up to that task. It took a lot of sanding filing, and reshaping of parts to get the chassis together flush and straight and then it took more of the same to get the body to fit right around the exhaust pipe holes and still match up to all the other body pieces. The name Challenger for this car is appropriate because this kit will really challenge your skills at making things fit.

"Unique Subject - Little Reward"

I've attempted to build this model twice. Both times I threw in the towel. The problem basic problem I ran into was poorly cast parts including the frame rails that would not align to the floor panel. A square alignment is absolutely critical to the entire build including the engine installs, axle positions and attachment of the body panels. The instructions are very poor which added to difficulties when building. I would really like to have a LSR car in my collection but sadly I won't be making a third attempt with this kit. Revell took on a complex job but failed to deliver.
