I purchased this kit fully intending to build it without any modifications but I proved myself wrong! The instructions show that the kit can be modified to be the 233 version mounting the 75mm KWIK gun as a heavily armed scout vehicle and be very accurate in this modification. Through researching the 233 version I found out that the vehicle was very popular with the airborne units of the Afrika Korps and in Italy as well. The open compartment offered the perfect platform to place the 75mm gun that came on another Tamiya kit which I promptly removed and placed inside the 233. The model went together as well as any Tamiya as the re-issue was from a good run of previous kits that I had built of the 232. All of the dimensions of the vehicle appeared correct and the exterior was what I needed to add lots of detailing to. Overall the kit would be best built by a somewhat experienced model builder.

I built this kit when I was much younger, and was thrilled with the results. I recently decided to get the updated version of the wonderful kit. And I was not disappointed at all! With updated parts, metal barrel, and some metal etch this is a real gem. Decals are superb with correct register. One must pay attention to the instructions to make sure of the assembly sequence ... but this is normal. The detail of the parts is crisp, with only minor ejector marks. the only gripe are the crew figures, I suspect they are of a older mold, with lots of flash and poor detail. I highly recommend this important part of the German Armor series to any level of skill. I was very pleased with the outcome as the photos show.

I have no issues and like this kit. It is small so it saves space or fits well in a diorama. I also like the fact that it is easier to build than 1/48 tanks that have the hard treads to painstakingly put together. This model has 8 wheels instead. It has options for European or African theaters of war and a driver.
