CH34 US Army Rescue Helicopter

I really enjoyed building this kit. It is my second H-34 but my first from Gallery. All in all, it was an issue free build. I did, however, take the liberty to make hinges to open the front end after spending so much time putting together the radial engine and mount. I believe all models that require so much energy constructing sub-assemblies should have the opportunity to display your work. I can understand not being able to do so if it isnt a natural opening. This kit has nice detail and choices for the interior, tail, as well as the cockpit. The fit was good on the parts and the connection of the rotor blades was well thought out. (This is where most copters fail in the kits). I decided to use the Viet era paint scheme, even though the copter is a later year radial model, because of my partiality to that time. The decals were sufficient even if not completely correct for the Viet era. If you know anything about the H-34, you know they really were the work horse for the Army and Marines in the early 60s. My father spent many hours in these babies as I was growing up and that is where my fondness comes from. I recommend this kit to all skill model builders leaning more to skilled. See my photos.
