Few ships have gained as much popularity with less screen time than the U.S.S. Enterprise-C. The Ambassador class ship designed by Andrew Probert appeared heavily damaged in only one classic episode of Star Trek: the Next Generation. Other Ambassador class ships such as the U.S.S. Yamaguchi would appear later episodes. AMT is proud to bring the kit back for a second tour around the galaxy and modelers' workbenches.
The Enterprise-C is not one of my favorite Trek ships, primarily because the original design feels somewhat inauthentic. My first thought when seeing the vessel fully assembled was that the Enterprise-C looks like, well, a toy version of the Enterprise-D. Therefore, I'd recommend this kit for completest Trek fans only. That said, the KIT itself is really well-done. The pieces are very detailed, and you can paint every hull plate and/or window if you so choose. (The painting guide is fairly minimal, unfortunately.) Assembly is quick, and there are extra pieces to build a variant of the ship if you like - nice! Best of all, there is an entire SHEET of decals for battle-damage. I personally chose to build a shiny new Enterprise-C and am saving those decals for another project. These extra features weren't necessary for this kit, but AMT included them anyway.
