This building has a simple, style that could work in many eras and locations. It is a European style building with a look that could easily be incorporated into an American style train layout. There is a slot along the bottom of the second floor, where the wall meets the covered porch, that needed to be filled in. I used a small piece of styrene to fill this slot. Paper signs, awnings and even window mask are included to help block the light if lamp is installed. I use the window masks supplied with these kits primarily for the window shades and curtain detail as I typically paint the inside of the walls and roof black. The mask alone is not dark enough to block the light especially when the exterior building paint colors are light. I painted and weathered this building using acrylic paints.
