I am not the type that thinks all things Kato are made in Haven. I have lots of issues with drop in decoders and poor design. But this engine is the best engine I have. It weighs 30 grams more then my SD 90 and is a half inch shorter. It really stays on track and negotiates turns well. Was much easier to upgrade to DCC. Didn't need Kapton tape all over the body to prevent shorting. Can't recommend this engine enough . Everyone should have one
