Good overview of D-Day armor.

This is a nice overview of allied armored operations conducted during the D-Day landings. It’s a valuable resource for those already familiar with the D-Day campaign. It probably would not be all that helpful for people just learning about the invasion. Tanks of D-Day 1944 starts by describing the various specialized tanks used during D-Day: CDL, Sherman DD, Deep-wading tanks, AVRE’s, Crab Flail, Crocodile, T1, and the M1 tank-dozer. It then briefly introduces overall doctrine. Next it provides separate accounts of armor use on all of the D-Day beaches as well as during the Dragoon landings. Finally, it provides a tiny bit of analysis. This book is a very useful supplement about the use of armor during D-Day.
