This model is molded in yellow plastic--no need to repaint it for a Caterpillar look. Just airbrush it in M/M clear gloss. I made my own decals by using in the internet for Caterpillar logos.

Since the track is molded in a color very close to M/M steel, here again, no need to repair it. Using paint could restrict or eliminate the motion of the track units. Just airbrushed the track mechanism in M/M steel.

Decided to leave the controls chrome, but painted the hand grips and foot sections in M/M flat black. Painted the driver's seat in M/M leather.

The ripper was attached with the hydraulic canisters, plungers and ripper blade movable. Attached the hydraulic lines with Elmer's glue.

Since a real "on the road unit" would have the bulldozer chained to the trailer, I did the same using costume jewelry chain. The bulldozer is actually attached to the trailer using 28ga. steel wire. The chain is just for appearance.

The entire model is made up of three AMT kits: the Bulldozer AMT 1086-06, the White/Freightliner semi AMT 620, and the drop-deck trailer. The bulldozer and truck are available at HobbyLinc. The trailer is out of production.

I added the red flags, WIDE LOAD signs, and the cable reels are from the original trailer kit.
