I began working on this incredible model last night. One of the great things about these Trumpeter 1/16 scale T-34 tanks is that, once you have built one, the second one is much easier. As with the T-34/85 Trumpeter model, the instructions begin with the building of the lower hull suspension system,

And now, the painting begins...Here is the lower hull, the exterior is dark green and the interior is flat white. As you can see, I just removed the scotch tape, covering the suspension system wells. After this picture was taken, I covered up the unpainted areas with dark green.

The 76 mm main gun has been painted. Basically, you can easily consider it a mini-kit within a much larger kit. Now that it has been painted, I can start detailing it. I usually start by consulting the instructions and see which parts need to be painted a different color.

After installing the suspension system, the first step in building the interior is painting the inside hull flat white.

I just finished spray painting the upper hull. I started by painting the interior white. After that dried, I taped off the interior and primed the exterior with black. After that dried, I used dark green.

After I painted the upper hull, I starting using my AK Interactive dark brown wash on the exterior of the model. As you can see, I applied it to the drive sprocket. It really brings out the fine details.

A good view of the main gun and turret, which are almost done. As you can see, the inside of the turret is white. Before attaching the main gun, I have to paint the small details inside the turret and then weather it. As for the main gun, I put some AK interactive dark brown wash on it after this pi

One of the many great things about the Trumpeter 1/16 scale T-34s is that the individual track links simply snap together. Simple as that! Have I just blown your mind? Good! Mine was blown too, when I first snapped them together. Here, the tracks are finished, after weathering with AK Interactive tr

The exterior upper hull is almost finished. I just have to stray on some dullcote. AK Interactive dark brown wash really helps to bring out the details. After which, I used my dry brush to weather the hull. I also used a subtle amount of AK Interactive light rust.

The 76mm main gun is almost finished. To bring out the details, I used AK Interactive dark brown wash and the dry brushed a subtle amount of steel on the gun. All I have to do now is spray on dullcote.

Here is the crew compartment almost finished. I just have to detail a few of the small parts. But the model is far from done. I have not even started on the engine or transmission yet.

I love how the finished exterior looks. It is simply a beautiful model. This picture was taken after I added dullcote, which, in my opinion, helps make your models much more realistic looking.

To give you a better idea of just how huge this model is, here is one of my Tamiya 1/35 scale T-34/76s in the foreground. And in the background, the 1/16 model. It's a gorgeous, huge beast!

After finishing building the V-2 engine, I added the only modification to this incredible kit: I added the 12 fuel injection lines, using metal wire. This was not my idea. I have seen other modelers do this, in their T-34 engine pictures. I am very happy with the result...

So here is the finished V-2 engine, with the fuel injection lines added. After painting and weathering with my dry brush, I sprayed it with dullcote, which really brings the engine to life.
